Thursday night the collective NHL world held their breath as Pittsburgh’s Sidney Crosby was struck in the face by a puck off the stick of Islanders defender Dylan Reese.
In an attempt to clear the puck, Reese proceeded to clear the puck down the ice. However this attempt ended up being blocked by the nose of Sid the Kid.
Crosby immediately hit the Nassau ice bleeding profusely only to return to the bench later in the game.
Despite his return though his status in the coming days will be closely monitored.
