Lions All-Pro wide receiver and Madden 13 cover athlete Calvin Johnson will throw out the first pitch prior to tonight’s interleague game between the Detroit Tigers and Pittsburgh Pirates from Comerica Park.
However earlier today, Megatron (who’s first sport in high school for a while was baseball) took part in some batting practice where he was making some good contact with the ball. In fact Johnson ended up hitting one out over the left field fences and into the Tigers bullpen.
“I told Delmon Young I would keep coming back until I hit one out, and I happened to hit one out today,” laughed Johnson, who did, as a matter of fact, launching a pitch from coach Gene Lamont over the wall in left field. “I’m still coming back, though.”
Hmmm… given the Tigers’ struggles on offense this year maybe they should get Megatron under contract before someone else scoops him up!
