Angelique S. Chengelis of the Detroit News writes that Michigan receiver Darryl Stonum has been indefinitely suspended from the team for what head coach Brady Hoke is calling a poor decision.

“Darryl made a poor decision that is unacceptable and won’t be tolerated,” Hoke said in a statement today. “He will be disciplined for behavior that is unbecoming of a Michigan football player.

“This is a serious situation. We are disappointed and any athletic department discipline will be handled internally. We will provide the appropriate support and counseling in order for him to learn and grow from this mistake.”
Chengelis also points out that Stonum will not be able to participate in full team activities.
“If he fulfills all of the commitments he has to the legal system and our program, we will make a determination regarding his return to the team.”
This isn’t the first time Stonum got himself into trouble while in Ann Arbor. On September 28th of last year he was arrested for a DUI by Ann Arbor Police.
After starting in 25 games in three seasons at Michigan he has compiled 76 catches for 1,008 yards. Last year he was the teams second leading receiver with 49 catches for 633 yards and four touchdowns.
