Twins pitcher Michael Pineda has received a 60-game suspension for a banned substance
Pineda had originally received an 80-game ban however an arbitrator chose to reduce the suspension after invoking the mitigation provision of the drug program. Pineda’s argument was that the substance he tested positive for was for a diuretic that wasn’t intended to mask PEDs. Ultimately though Pineda will be ineligible for the postseason.
