MSU freshman QB Joe Boisture indicated that he will be leaving Michigan State. This is according to John Taylor of College Football Talk.
In a statement given to Rivals.com Boisture praised the Michigan State football program but thought that his college football career would be better served if he moved on from MSU after being buried in the depth chart behind senior QB Kirk Cousins and sophomore Andrew Maxwell.
“It is in my best interest that I have decided to leave the Michigan State football program,” Boisture said. “I love the university, my teammates, the medical staff and most of all Coach Dantonio. Coach D truly cares about me and all of his players off the field as well as on the field.
“I have the utmost respect for him as a coach and person and wish him and the Spartans nothing but success.”
Boisture was a 4 star recruit for the 2010 MSU recruiting class and was ranked the 18th best pro style QB in the country according to Rivals.com. MSU gave him the redshirt in 2010 after participating in spring practice as an early enrollee. Prior to Michigan State, Boisture had a verbal commitment to Boston College but switched to MSU back in 2009. According to College Football Talk, there was also a significant amount of interest from Pittsburgh, Cincinnati and UCLA during his recruitment.
