After the firing of pitching coach Rick Knapp, it’s clear that that Tigers are setting a precedent on pitching, whether that be starting pitching or relief pitching.

With that said, Jon Paul Morosi of FOXSports.com tweeted Monday that the Tigers may have interest in Dodgers RHP Hiroki Kuroda. The drawback however is that Kuroda currently has a no-trade clause in his contract and there is no indication on whether or not he’d be willing to waive it.

With the financial problems currently plaguing the Dodgers and the fact that they are 11 games out of the NL West lead the Dodgers will certainly be looking to sell come the trade deadline.

Morosi also reported that the Tigers may not be the only team in on Kuroda. Apparently the no-trade clause hasn’t detoured teams like the Red and Rookies from getting the ball rolling on Kuroda.

Kuroda is just 5-9, but has a solid 3.10 ERA is eligible for free agency at the end of the season.
