Despite the good outing from Duane Below Wednesday night and acquiring infielder Wilson Betemit from Kansas City, general manager Dave Dombrowski is still in search of another arm for the second half of the season. This is according to Jason Beck of MLB.com.

“Our attention is on pitching,” Dombrowski said before Wednesday’s game. “It hasn’t swayed from that whatsoever. We are still looking for a starting pitcher. Maybe Duane Below will throw a shutout and maybe he’ll be our answer. You can never tell. But we continue to look for a guy to put in our starting rotation.”

The Tigers are still being linked to guys like Hiroki Kuroda, Wandy Rodriguez and Ubaldo Jimenez.

One thing you can probably rule out is the idea of the Tigers trading LHP Andy Oliver and recently demoted Brandon Inge to the Chicago Cubs for 3B Aramis Ramirez and starting pitcher Carlos Zambrano.
