The Tigers have signed veteran lefty Derek Holland to a minor league deal with an invite to spring training according to Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press and Jon Morosi of the MLB Network who also notes that Detroit’s intention will be to work him out of the bullpen.
Holland is coming off a terrible season with the Pirates finishing the year with a 6.86 ERA and 6.14 FIP in the National League. These numbers for Holland came as he working primarily out of the bullpen for Pittsburgh making five starts and seven bullpen appearances in 2020.
