Detroit

The Detroit Tigers shocked the World Wednesday which is weird to say considering how fucking awful they’ve been this season.

Entering last night’s road matchup against Justin Verlander as plus-435 underdogs with $100 bet winning you $435 at Caesars Sportsbook, the Tigers pulled off the biggest MLB upset in 15 years (betting wise) with a 2-1 win over the Houston Astros.

Betters though have the Astros offense to curse (or thank) depending on how you placed your money prior to last nights game. That’s because Verlander was typical JV allowing just two hits and two runs in nine innings while striking out 11. His only big mistake of the night was serving up this 95 mph fastball to the heart of the plate in the 9th which John Hicks promptly gifted to some fan in centerfield.

Fireworks continued in the bottom half of the ninth when Robinson Chirinos tried to stretch a double into a triple but was struck down at third to end the game.

Joe Jimenez who sat both Yordan Alvarez and Yuli Gurriel with strikeouts recorded his fourth save of the season.

Meanwhile, Tigers starter Daniel Norris went three innings allowing two hits, no runs, and three strikeouts as Buck Farmer was awarded the win to bring his record to 5-4.

The biggest loser of last night’s game though? Probably this guy…
