Detroit

The Tigers have reportedly interviewed Dodgers first base coach George Lombard for their vacant managerial job according to MLB.com’s Jason Beck.

Beck notes the Tigers having a prior interest in Lombard so his interview with the team shouldn’t come as a surprise. It was also previously reported that Detroit would also consider A.J. Hinch and Alex Cora who are currently suspended until the conclusion of the World Series due to their involvement in the Astros cheating scandal from a few years back.

If Lombard were to be hired by the Tigers it would be his first managerial job in the MLB. He did serve as the manager of the Rookie-level Gulf Coast Red Sox in 2011-12 compiling a 61–59 (.508) overall record. Lombard eventually spent time within the Atlanta organization as a minor league director before behind hired by the Dodgers as their first base coach in 2015.
