Doug Mittler of ESPN.com wrote Friday that the Cleveland Indians may just cut ties with oft injured outfielder Grady Sizemore.

Going into next season, Sizemore has a $9 million dollar club option which the Tribe may decline in order to acquire pitching help and/or help at first base.

If the option is declined, Sizemore would become a free and Jason Churchill of ESPN.com believes the Los Angeles Dodgers, Seattle Mariners and Detroit Tigers could come calling.

The Detroit Tigers present an interesting cast for obvious reasons. Next season its assumed that Magglio Ordonez won’t be brought back leaving right field to Brennan Boesch who was having a nice 2011 season before thumb surgery put him on the shelf. In left field Delmon Young is under club control next season while Austin Jackson is turning into a great defensive center fielder but with plenty of work to do at the plate.

The Tigers priorities this offseason won’t be in the outfield which leads me to believe that they will probably pass on Sizemore if he becomes available.
