After a somewhat impressive performance (6 carries for 34 yards and 1 TD in limited time) Sunday night against New Orleans, Lions running back Kevin Smith was once again knocked out of the game early after reaggravating an ankle injury he suffered the week prior.
As of Monday, there is plenty on uncertainty surrounding Smith’s availability for Week 14 against the Minnesota Vikings.
“We’ll see,” head coach Jim Schwartz said Monday of the RB, according to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press. The coach also confirmed that the team had a feeling something would come up with Smith’s ailing ankle during the contest; however, “I don’t think he’s in a worse spot,” looking ahead.
The next step in learning where exactly Smith will be falls on Wednesday when the Lions take to the field to prepare for the upcoming weekend.
