The Majors Detroit Pregame Analysis:
Adam “Dorf” Waltersdorf
This is Monday Night Football and the Lions have to show up. This Giants team flat-out looked inept in the preseason. If this is a classic Lions team, they will fold like a house of cards and find a way to lose this game. But if they are truly a changed team under the leadership of new Head Coach Jim Caldwell, they will have to win this game, and not hold on for dear life at the end.
Adam Hernandez
On paper the there’s no question the Lions should run away with this one as they’re better than the Giants in almost every offensive and defensive position. However with the Lions nothing is certain. BUT in order for Detroit to come out on top tonight they’re going to have to play up to their advantages on offense. Spread the ball out utilizing what you have through the air. The Giants will undoubtedly double-team Calvin and when they do find Tate in the slot or go the easy route with a check down to Reggie Bush. The Giants’ secondary isn’t that bad but should have their fair share of problems when it comes to what Detroit can do through the air. On defense, the Giants really only have one weapon in Victor Cruz and despite what the Lions failed to do this offseason (seriously address the secondary) that shouldn’t be enough to really burn Detroit in the defensive backfield.
