Fresh off their record-setting 27th straight loss, embattled GM Troy Weaver and the Pistons are actually looking ahead to the future and adding pieces…

In an appearance on Fan Duel’s Run It Back The Athletic’s Shams Charania mentioned that the Pistons could target a “four-man” with the $50-$60M in cap space they’ll have next offseason. Shams even had names mentioning Pascal Siakam, OG Anunoby, Tobias Harris, and Miles Bridges as potential targets.

It seems crazy at this point that Weaver would even be allowed to spend that kind of money considering the season the Pistons have had thus far. Especially, $50-$60M which if you wondering how things can get any worse for the Pistons, imagine being saddled with a multitude of bad contracts and losing a shit ton of games. Perhaps on of the few remaining silver linings for Pistons fans is they’re a young team and aren’t hampered by bad contracts.

However, even entertaining the thought of allowing Weaver to continue to spend is a huge reason why fans have in large part have been chanting “sell the team” at the LCA since it certainly seems like Tom Gores just simply doesn’t care what’s happening on the court.

Shams also mentioned that two guys who may be untouchable are Cade Cunningham and Jalen Duren – hell, I’d even add Jaden Ivey into that mix as well. On the flip, Shams singled out Bojan Bogdanović and Monté Morris as two guys who have value in the league and could be going the other way in any trade.
