The New Jersey Devils capitalized off the their 11.5 chance at securing the top pick in the NHL Draft by winning tonight’s Draft Lottery.
The Senators, who had the NHL’s worst record (and who traded their pick to the Colorado Avalanche) came up 4th while the New York Rangers and Chicago Blackhawks round out the top three respectively.
It’s expected the Devils will select the United States‘ Jack Hughes who’s undoubtedly seen as the top pick in this summer’s Draft. Kaapo Kakko of TPS in Liiga, Finland‘s top division is widely seen to go No. 2 overall with the rest of the field being somewhat up in the air.
