Former Nebraska running back Ameer Abdullah who had an issue with fumbling the football with the Detroit Lions has found a new home with the Vikings.

Wednesday, Minnesota claimed the running back on waivers after he was cut earlier in the week by their NFC North rivals.

Abdullah had recently fallen out of favor in Detroit and barely played this season after fighting for his job out of camp with the Lions adding rookie Kerryon Johnson and veteran LeGarrette Blount in the winter.

Although Abdullah stays in the division it’s hard to see him take on any prominent role with the Vikings. Last week Minnesota got Dalvin Cook back and continue to run with Latavius Murray and rookies Mike Boone and Roc Thomas who has been dealing with a hamstring issue.
