The Detroit Lions could be looking at a much different defensive line when they take the field in 2020.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the team will release veteran DT Damon “Snacks” Harrison in an effort to save in upwards of $6 million dollars in cap space.

Originally acquired midway through the 2018 season from the New York Giants Snacks finished 2019 with 49 tackles and two sacks having signed a one-year, $11 million dollar extension last offseason.

At this point, though it’s unclear what’s next for Harrison (he did hint at retirement after a disappointing season for the Lions last year), Snacks may not be the only Lions, defensive lineman, to leave this offseason. ESPN’s Michael Rothstein is also reporting that A’Shawn Robinson and Mike Daniels could also be on their way out further suggesting that Derrick Brown or Javon Kinlaw could “make sense” for Detroit in the upcoming Draft.
