Detroit

Darius Slay is gone.

After a week of rebuilding their defensive backfield which included signing Desmond Trufant and Jayron Kearse while trading for Duron Harmon the Lions parted ways with BiG pLaY sLaY sending the ever-growing malcontent to the Eagles for a 3rd-round pick and a 5th-round pick according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Up to last night, Slay had been sitting at home hoping for Detroit to pull the trigger on a deal that would get him out of town.

And upon getting dealt, Slay in turn signed a three-year, $50 million dollar deal ($30 million guaranteed) making him the highest-paid corner in the NFL.

Meanwhile, the Lions continue to load up on draft picks as you can see from Shefter’s previous tweet making you wonder if they will in fact trade out of that third overall spot to accumulate more.
