The cap strapped Lions made a move today to get them more financial relief as they restructured the deal with running back Reggie Bush according to USA Today’s Tom Pelissero.
#Lions restructured Reggie Bush's contract today for cap purposes, I'm told. Still signed through 2016. Making $3.5 million this season.

The 29-year old Bush signed a four-year, $16M dollar deal with the Lions last March which included a $4M dollar signing bonus. Bush was set to make a $3.5M base salary this season as well as $3.25M and $3.75M in the final two-years of the deal. OverTheCap.com reports that Bush had cap numbers of $4.5M over the next two years and $5M in 2016 however it’s unclear how the new deal will affect those numbers.
The Lions were in desperate need for some kind of relief though especially considering the $22.4M cap hit from Ndamukong Suh.
