With the regular season over, the Lions are pushing forward with a number of scheduled interviews for their vacant head coach and GM positions after dropping the ax on Matt Patricia and Bob Quinn earlier in the season.

Among those interviews, Detroit will sit down with Chiefs OC Eric Bieniemy (who has emerged as one of the hotter targets around the NFL) today, interim head coach Darrell Bevel tomorrow, and 49ers DC Robert Saleh — who is also a Detroit native this coming Thursday.

Next week the team will also interview Titans OC Arthur Smith and Saints AHC Dan Campbell who Lions fans may remember as the organizations’ former special teamer.

As far as GM goes, Detroit has scheduled Wednesday interviews with Rams college scouting director Brad Holmes and Vikings assistant GM George Paton. Meanwhile, the Lions have also scheduled a sit down with Saints assistant GM Jeff Ireland for Friday.

The Lions are also rumored to be after Seahawks GM John Schneider — who still has one year left on his deal with Seattle so it’s assumed that Detroit would have to give up some sort of compensation to the Seahawks (probably picks and/or cash) in order to hire him.
