NCAA 14

The fifth anniversary of NCAA 14 comes as a bittersweet moment for football gamers all over the world. Sweet in the sense that NCAA 14 provided fans of the franchise with another year of quite simply one of the best series of football video games ever created. Bitter in the sense that EA Sports hasn’t produced another NCAA since.

Sad because today’s anniversary is another one of those simple reminded of just how screwed up college sports is today.

Sure we’re dealing with first world problems here but the discontinuation of the franchise serves as another example of the utter greed of the NCAA. The debate as to whether or not college players should be paid will wage on but is there any conceivable argument out there that athletes appearing in this game (numbers or name otherwise) shouldn’t be paid?

The NCAA has turned college sports into an unmitigated gold mine. A gold mine that has managed to steal the individual identities of its most valuable assets.
