Detroit

With at least one more weekend of football for the Lions and a broken forearm for Brock Wright, Detroit is reportedly signing veteran tight-end Zach Ertz to a contract according to Tom Pelissero.

Yes, Ertz is being signed to the practice squad, however, you don’t make a signing at this point in the season for a guy to sit on the bench in the NFC Championship Game. Pelissero also notes that Ertz is being reunited with his former tight-ends coach Steve Heiden so it should be expected that Ertz gets up to speed pretty quickly and is ready to go relatively speaking when the Lions get on a plane to Santa Clara.

The 33-year-old Ertz, a three-time Pro Bowler, started the season with the Cardinals but asked for his release to sign with a contender.

Well, Ertz got his wish… he’s signing with a Super Bowl contender. He’s singing with the Detroit Lions who are 60 minutes away from the Super Bowl.

Fucking crazy…
