It’s been a tough go around for Arizona sports to finish out 2018 and as things progress in the New Year. Each of the teams are seemingly in rebuild mode, the city lost Paul Goldschmidt and the Cardinals were expecting to hear an announcement regarding the retirement of future hall of famer and the face of the franchise Larry Fitzgerald.

However, instead of moving on with a new head coach and a raw QB for 2019 the Cardinals got some unexpected good news for a change, Fitzgerald was in fact coming back to the team.

Wednesday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that the Cardinals and Fitzgerald agreed to a one-year deal giving Cardinals fans one other thing to look forward too in 2019 in what sure to be another long season.

Fitz’s return no doubt is a relief for the Cardinals heading into the season. Despite still being productive even at 36-years-old the veteran presence not only in the locker room and on the field will be a much needed boost for new head coach Kliff Kingsbury and young quarterback Josh Rosen.

But especially Josh Rosen considering Fitzgerald is certainly one of those types of players that can fit in any offense, isn’t a malcontent when he isn’t dialed up in every single play and will still help offset the opposing defense to hopefully open up some running lanes for David Johnson.
