It’s not every day you hear player say that it’s pretty much impossible for their team to make the playoffs when their team is still in the hunt. Hell, even if it is mathematically impossible for a players team to make the playoffs they never use a word like ‘impossible’, they always seem to try to put a positive spin on things.

Unfortunately for the Pistons they have been anything but positive this year.

Currently the Pistons are 4.5 games out of the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. However according to Chris Iott of Mlive.com, Tayshaun Prince keeping pace with the playoff race is seemingly impossible.

“If we’ve got to win 15 to 16, after how things have been going, that’s pretty much impossible,” Prince said Monday evening following practice. “But we’ve got to see what the teams in the seventh and eighth spot are doing. That’s why you’ve got to take care of business early on, so you don’t have to worry about that.”

Prince was then asked what it would take for the Pistons to get back into the playoff hunt…

“How many games have we played?” Prince asked. “We’ve been talking about change for how long? We’ve been talking change for a while, and nothing’s changed, so that’s why I say it’s impossible.”

Again, this is just another reason why it’s time to let 2004 go and blow up the Pistons.
