Roc Nation could soon be landing in the Motor City. According to ProFootballTalk.com’s Mike Florio the dopest agent in the mother effing game Jay Z could be the new representative of the baddest mother effer in the NFL Ndamukong Suh. However, Florio writes that at this point it’s still unclear to at what capacity Roc Nation would represent the Suh who recently fired Relativity Sports heading into his contract year. That rep could range anywhere from just marketing to actually negotiating Suh’s next contract which is set to be very lucrative for both Suh and his next potential agent.
The source also tells PFT that Suh has been spotted at multiple Jay Z concerts in recent weeks. At a December concert in Nebraska, Jay Z wore a black Nebraska jersey with Suh’s Cornhusker No. 93 and “S. Carter” on the back. Jay Z also gave Suh what the kids (and some of the old people like me) call a “shout out” from the stage in Detroit on January 10.
Suh becomes the next priority for the Lions this offseason after the hiring of Jim Caldwell. Heading into the 2014 season Suh’s $22 million cap hit would roughly account for 20 percent of the Lions’ total cap for the season which would handcuff the team tremendously in what they could do during free agency. Locking up Suh to a contract extension would seemingly give the team some big-time relief when it comes to cap space and the notion that Suh would be locked up for the long-term.
During his first four years in the league, Suh has made more money ($51.79 million) than any other player in NFL history.
