Michigan State has definitely found their man.
The school’s official site reported that Dantonio was given a new contract that would increase his base and annual salaries as well as moving up his contingent bonus from 2016 to 2014.
This is without a doubt a significant move for Michigan State considering Dantonio has been a rumored name to take over the Ohio State job if and when Luke Fickell is dismissed at the end of the season.
“The new contract signed by Dantonio on Saturday ensures the kind of stability Michigan State maintained when it was a feared national power on a perennial basis and the continuity that’s integral to sustained success,” Steve Grinczel of MSUsports.com wrote.
