- Cam Newton’s debut as the Panthers’ new QB overshadowed what could be a significant leg/foot injury to Carolina linebacker Jon Beason. “Jon Beason’s injury is ‘very significant’ and he will be out a lengthy period of time,” Steve Reed of the Gaston Gazette tweeted.
- St. Louis Rams QB Sam Bradford had to leave the game early against the Eagles after suffering what looks to be nerve damage to his hand. Rams fans may be able to rest easier since he told Bernie Miklasz of the St. Louis Dispatch that he doesn’t see any way he isn’t on the field for the Rams next week.
- Despite sitting out this week against the Redskins, Giants linebacker Justin Tuck plans to be in the New York lineup next week.
- Drew Brees lost one of his favorite targets Thursday when Marques Colston broke his collar bone. However the injury news for New Orleans doesn’t stop there. Lance Moore is still listed as day-to-day with a groin injury.
- Jason LaCanfora of the NFL Network reported that Houston WR Kevin Walter could miss 10 to 12 weeks due to a broken shoulder he suffered in Houston’s opening weekend victory against Indianapolis.
