According to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press, the Detroit Lions want incumbent backup QB Shaun Hill to return to the team and apparently the feeling is mutual. In fact Hill may take a discount to return.
“I hope things work out here and I’m able to come back,” Hill said after the season. “I have to go and kind of weigh all the options and see what’s even going to be available. But I know I’m very happy here. I’m happy in my role here, and I’m happy where this franchise is going. All those things are very important to me.
“And on top of that, it’s been a very tough year for me off the field, and some of the things that’s happened to myself and my family, and just all the support that we’ve had from this organization, that kind of stuff goes a long way with me. So I really hope something works out here.”
After appearing in two games last year and attempted just three passes, Hill seemed to of found a place within the Lions organization. Furthermore Hill said he was moved by the way the organization and fans showed their support after his father tragically past away last offseason.
