Looking to take that next step in 2013 the Kansas City Royals further bolstered their rotation by acquiring pitchers James Shields and Wade Davis from the Tampa Bay Rays for 2012’s Minor League Player of the Year Wil Myers and what’s expected to be a nice crop of prospects.

UPDATE: In addition to Myers the Rays also received right-hander Jake Odorizzi, left-hander Mike Montgomery and third baseman Patrick Leonard. The Royals will also have a choice in receiving cash or a player to be named later in addition to Shields and Davis.
