Rocky Lombardi and the Michigan State Spartans were dead set on making sure Purdue didn’t find any magic for the fifth straight weeks.
The redshirt freshman quarterback threw for 318 yards and two touchdowns filing in for the injured Brian Lewerke as the Spartans were able to hold off the Boilermakers who were coming off an emotional win over Ohio State last weekend.

Not to say that Purdue had opportunity to erase their losing streak against Michigan State.
Boilermakers QB David Blough hit Brycen Hopkins near the Michigan State 20-yard line however a hard hit by Tyriq Thompson and subsequent interception helped put an end to that Purdue drive with 10:02 left to play.
