According to multiple sources including; ESPN, 97.1 The Ticket and several certified Twitter accounts: Rich Rodriguez has been fired as the head coach of the University of Michigan football team. Reports were that Rodriguez and Michigan Athletic Director, David Brandon, had a meeting scheduled for this afternoon.
Fox 2 News Detroit broke the report of the firing at about 2:24pm Tuesday afternoon on their website, as well as on their twitter account around 2:30pm.
Multiple other media outlets have jumped on the story, and even though it has not been officially confirmed with a statement from any of the parties involved, our opinion here at TheMajors.net is that the reports are indeed true.
Who will replace Rodriguez? Are the reports true that the Jim Harbaugh route is indeed dead? What’s next for the University of Michigan football program?
