A Portland area news station is now reporting that Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh lied to Police about the detail regarding a weekend car crash.
KGW-TV says that the two women who were in the car with Suh when it crashed early Saturday morning have come forward to police saying that they were in fact hurt in the crash and that they weren’t given a factual account to what actually happened.
“When the light turned green, he floored it,” one of the passengers told KGW. “I just remember going so fast and it was violent and just getting thrown around like rag dolls.”
One of the women claims that she had a cut upper eyebrow which required stitches, a black eye and a busted lip. She also claimed that she repeatedly told Suh that she was hurt and needed medical attention but he refused her request. The TV station also reports that a witness told police that it looked like the driver of the car was trying to show off with a male witness stating that it looked as though Suh was “driving unsafe”.
At the time of the accident, police reported that Suh was very cooperative and claimed that he was trying to pass a taxi when he lost control of his car. Suh also stated that neither he or his two passengers were hurt in the crash. Police determined that Suh wasn’t intoxicated and didn’t issue him any citations for the crash.
Furthermore Suh was the one who called 9-1-1 to report the crash.
Police say no further citations will be issued since no one at the scene said Suh was driving out of control.
“At no point did anyone there tell an officer that he [Suh] was driving out of control,” said Sgt. Pete Simpson with the Portland Police Bureau. “The crash doesn’t meet our threshold for investigation which is vulnerable road user, DUI, or serious trauma injury.”
