According to various reports via Twitter and Chris Iott of Mlive.com, the Tigers plan to call up reliever Luis Marte at some point when the rosters expand September 1st.
Iott writes that Marte has allowed just 29 hits while striking out 68 in 53 innings pitched for Erie this season. He has a 3-0 record and a 1.70 ERA in 23 games for Erie.
Tigers manager Jim Leyland went on to say that there will be no formal announcement on which players will get the call up until after their series finale against Kansas City Thursday. Jacob Turner is the only exception given he is already pitching that day.
