Josh Schriver is seemingly at it again, spewing more hateful ideology from his position in Lansing as a state representative for the Republican Party.

Tuesday, Schriver, who represents the 66th House District in Michigan, retweeted a graphic from an alt-right conspiracy theorist Jack Posobiec promoting the “great replacement theory”.

However, not only did Schriver retweet the image, but it seemed evident the state official agreed with the racist theory given his quote tweet…

Originally coined by the French white nationalist author Renaud Camus, the “great replacement” or “great replacement theory” creates a false narrative rooted in white supremacy that non-white and Muslim-majority populations are replacing white Europeans through mass migration, demographic growth, and declining birth rates. The Southern Poverty Law Center further states that the “racist conspiracy narrative falsely asserts there is an active, ongoing and covert effort to replace white populations in current white-majority countries.”

Additionally, the theory itself has been linked to numerous hate crimes not only in the United States but around the world including the Buffalo supermarket shooting back in 2022, the mosque shooting in Christchurch, New Zealand in 2019, and the Pittsburgh synagogue shooting in 2018.

Aside from the post on Monday, Schriver has already been in the news for comments he made this past week regarding banning trans health care for everyone in the state of Michigan, regardless of age. In an audio recording leaked of an “X Space” conversation on January 26, 2024, Schriver could be heard saying concerning trans health care, “In terms of end game, why are we allowing these practices for anyone? Why would we stop this for anyone under 18, but not apply this for anyone over 18? This is harmful across the board, and I think it’s something that we need to take into consideration for the end-game.”

In a since-deleted post on Twitter, Schriver highlighted his stance on the trans community while simultaneously promoting a Detroit City FC youth camp before the end of last year.

Schriver, who was elected to his current seat back in 2022, is also the husband of Detroit City FC goalkeeper Gabby Schriver.

Although Gabby has kept any feelings regarding her husband’s recent comments close to the vest, Detroit City FC’s vocal supporter base has certainly made their opinions known, including the Northern Guard Supporters who took Josh Schriver’s social media post head on Wednesday night.

NGS also hasn’t shied away from past remarks of Schriver’s…

Nonetheless, Detroit City FC has been incredibly vocal when it comes to the Club’s overall support for the LGBTQ community — all while representing a very diverse city of Detroit and playing in the middle of the immigrant community of Hamtramck.

In any sense, you have to assume this puts Detroit City FC in a very awkward position considering that image the club has built for itself since its inaugural season back in 2012. An image of a forward-thinking, progressive club whose roots are deeply intertwined in those diverse, multicultural communities.

Josh Schriver is referring to all of this as his “research” 🤨

In a statement to the Detroit News on Wednesday, Schriver said he loved “all of God’s offspring” and believed “everyone’s immense value is rooted in the price Christ paid on the Cross when he died for our sins.

The Michigan Rep. continued stating that “I’m opposed to racists, race baiters, and victim politics.” He continued his statement to the Detroit News mentioning that “What I find strange is the agenda to demoralize and reduce the white portion of our population. That’s not inclusive and Christ is inclusive! I’m glad Tucker Carlson and Jack Posobiec are sharing links so I can continue my research on these issues.”
