As of right now, it’s looking more and more unlikely that the Texas Rangers will make bids on a high-priced free agent first baseman like Albert Pujols or Prince Fielder and instead focus on one of their own.

According to Jon Heyman of SI.com, the Rangers will turn their attention to star outfielder Josh Hamilton and work to get him locked up for the long-term.

Aside from signing Hamilton long-term, the Rangers will also have starting pitching high on their priority list this offseason. The team will also like to re-sign lefty C.J. Wilson and perhaps go after free agent starters such as Roy Oswalt, John Danks and Yu Darvish.
