Following the departure of second baseman Scott Sizemore, Tigers manager Jim Leyland intends to give Ryan Raburn a fresh start at the vacated position.

“I’m going to talk to him tomorrow about it,” Leyland said late Friday night. “To me, Raburn’s season starts tomorrow. Forget everything that’s happened up to this point. Start your season tomorrow. You’re going to be the second baseman pretty much on an everyday basis, at least for a while.”

So far this season Raburn has only five starts at second base and is only hitting .2oo with 4 home runs and 15 RBI’s.

“Hopefully, we can get his bat going,” Leyland said. “His bat would be a big plus if we could get that going.”
