Brad Penny couldn’t complete the sweep of the Twins as he gets hard in a 11-4 loss today from Target Field.

Penny allowed a pair of two-run home runs and seven runs overall (all earned) as the Tigers finish an impressive road trip going 5-2 while going 8-2 in their last 10.

If Penny won today’s game the Tigers would’ve had four 10 game winners. The last time this happened was in 2006 which also mark the last time the Tigers went to the playoffs (and eventually the World Series). Penny will get another shot at 10 as he probably has 5 more starts before the end of the regular season.

On the other side of things Twins starter Brian Duensing who has struggled this season allowed four runs on on seven hits and three walks in six innings. He struck out four and was credited with the win.

The Tigers will now begin a 4 game home series against the Kansas City Royals starting Monday night.
