Safely out of Boston and in a National League city, Phillies closer Jonathan Papelbon decided it was time to take a shot at his former longtime fan base Fenway.
In an interview with CBS Sports in Philladelphia, Papelbon talked about the differences between the two baseball crazed cities…
“The difference between Boston and Philadelphia, the Boston fans are a little bit more hysterical when it comes to the game of baseball,” Papelbon said. “The Philly fans tend to know the game a little better, being in the National League, you know, the way the game is played.” … [Papelbon] was asked if he had excepted to remain with the Red Sox at the start of last offseason. “It was a situation where the Red Sox didn’t really come at me the way I was expecting.”
Luckily for Papelbon the Phillies don’t make a trip to Fenway this upcoming season but Boson will visit Philadelphia for an interleague series in mid May.
