Despite weekend losses in their conference tournaments, Kentucky, North Carolina and Syracuse secured top seeds in the NCAA Tournament Sunday.

Michigan State, who enacted some revenge on Ohio State earned the other top seed after their 68-64 victory in the Big Ten Tournament title game Sunday afternoon.

Next up in the 68 team tournament are the first round games Tuesday which will eventually lead to the Final Four beginning March 31st in New Orleans.

Kentucky and Syracuse both enter the tournament with only two losses and were virtual locks for No. 1 seeds after selection committee chair Jeff Hathaway all but said so last week. However their loses in the the conference tournaments will certainly add some intrigue when millions across the nation begin filling out their brackets.

Syracuse fell to Cincinnati in the Big East semifinals on Friday; Kentucky lost to Vanderbilt in the Southeastern Conference title game, and the Tar Heels lost to Florida State in the ACC finals Sunday. When you add to fact that Kansas lost to Baylor in the Big 12 Tournament title game, this marked the first time since 2003 that the top four teams in the Associated Press poll all lost in the same week.

Let the madness begin!
