Orange County SC made some strides in improving on their 1.4 goals per match mark from 2022 by signing Scottish striker Marc McNulty for the upcoming campaign.
“I am very excited for my move to Orange County and to play in the USL Championship!” McNulty said. “I can’t wait to get started and help the team achieve great things as they have done in the past!”
The 30-year-old out of Edinburgh, Scotland, McNulty is coming to Southern California with a plethora of experience. Sitting at 388 matches under his belt, McCulty will make OCSC his 11th career club having spent time with the likes of Livingston, Sheffield United, Coventry City, and Sunderland.
As far as that goal-scoring prowess, McNulty has managed 127 goals and 61 assists over those 388 matches with one of his best seasons coming in 2017-18 when he managed an astounding 28 goals and 11 assists in 52 appearances for then League Two side Coventry City.
*We are delighted to add Marc, a former Scottish International to our roster,” OCSC General Manager and President of Soccer Operations Oliver Wyss said. ”Marc’s quality and international experience will have a significant impact on our team and we are convinced he will bring lots of joy to our fans in Orange County.”
McNulty is also coming in with a little bit of familiarity with the club. His arrival brings back together himself and OCSC midfielder Dillon Powers who was a teammate of McNulty at Dundee United FC of the Scottish Premiership during the 2020-21 season.
