During this years off-season activities Safety Louis Delmas sustained a groin injury which is now being reported that he may need surgery on it, which would mean he could miss most or all of the 2010 season. If Delmas were to have surgery this would be a huge blow to the whole Lions team, especially the secondary which is still very weak and looking to fill the spot opposite of Delmas at safety. Lucky this is only a rumor that he may need surgery, but you really can’t turn a blind eye to it? Who would fill that roster spot? There is no one out there who could fill that spot as well as Delmas because the safety position is an already very tough position to play and there is only a couple elite players at safety out there such as Ed Reed, Troy Polamalu, Brian Dawkins, and Darren Sharper. Louis Delmas is not an elite safety but he is a pretty damn good one.
If Delmas goes out who is expected to take his place and how worse will the Lions be without him?
