NL MVP Ryan Braun wins his appeal for his 50 game suspension

The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reports that Brewers outfielder Ryan Braun has won his appeal for a suspension stemming from a positive test for performance enhancing drugs. Braun also becomes the first player in MLB history to have a suspension overturned for a positive drug test.

News of Braun’s positive test was first reported on ESPN’s Outside the Lines in December and since then the All-Star outfielder has vigorously denied the test results…

“There are highly unusual circumstances surrounding this case which will support Ryan’s complete innocence and demonstrate there was absolutely no intentional violation of the program… We are confident he will ultimately be exonerated.”

With these latest developments, it’s now expected that Braun will be with the Brewers this week at Spring Training.
