The National Independent Soccer Association, otherwise known as NISA has been hanging on by a thread as a sanctioned third-division pro league in the hellscape that is the U.S. Soccer pyramid.

However, if the rumors contained within this Reddit thread are true, the League that once had some of the bigger lower-league clubs could soon meet its demise.

Reddit

Chattanooga FC was the last club that offered up NISA any legitimacy after Detroit City FC bolted for the USL Championship in 2022. Without CFC NISA loses a flagship club that at least brought some positive attention to the fledgling league.

As far as the other clubs mentioned there should be no surprise. The Michigan Stars brought financial stability as odd as that may sound considering their owner but it’s the truth. And like the post said without the aforementioned clubs NISA may very well find themselves below the required eight clubs needed for division three sanctioning from the USSF. Of course, the Federation could grant a waiver, however, at this point what’s the use? If NISA has proven anything in their relatively short existence it’s they’re very good at making the wrong decisions.
