Michigan State’s Nick Ward makes no doubt about it, he’s playing Sunday against Duke in the Elite 8.

The question comes after a scary moment in the second half against LSU when Ward appeared to re-injure his left hand that originally kept him out of action for three weeks after an initial hairline fracture against Ohio State on February 17.

Last night’s injury forced Ward to exit the game with 6:57 left in the game however the good news is x-rays were negative and the bruise he suffered after the fall Friday was on a different part of the hand.

“The good news is it’s not broke,” Izzo said. “They X-Rayed it, it’s not in the same spot, it’s on the same hand. I didn’t see what happened to be honest with you. He says he’s hanging in there, it’s going to be sore.”

After the game last night, Ward spoke to reporters saying “it’s just a bruise on the outside of my hand” while reaffirming that he’ll be fine and intends to play Sunday against Duke.
