In the midst of the ongoing NHL lockout, the League announced Friday that all games through the month of November would be cancelled, essentially ending any hope of a full 82 game schedule.

In addition to this, according to John Buccigross, the League will cancel the Winter Classic in Detroit/Ann Arbor as well as the All-Star Game next week.

Talks between the NHL and the NHLPA broke down last week after the players initially rejected a proposal of a 50/50 split of all hockey related revenue. Since then the owners have pulled the offer off the table with no one-on-one talks being scheduled.
