The day after Michigan State head coach Mark Dantonio announced that offensive tackle Skyler Burkland is out for the season with an ankle injury, the Spartans got more bad news.

Dantonio announced Tuesday that starting center Blake Treadwell and backup tackle Jared McGaha will be unavailable this weekend due to MCL sprains.

According to George Sipple of the Detroit Free Press, Treadwell could return October 1st when the Spartans take on Ohio State however McGaha could be out through October 15th when the Wolverines visit Spartan Stadium.

Redshirt freshman Travis Jackson will start at center against CMU while Fou Fonoti will start in place of Skyler Burkland.

“We lose three offensive linemen in three or four days’ time, but you deal with it,” Dantonio said. “You deal with adversity, and you deal with the problems that you have. I guess I talk about it all the time, whether it’s your life or whether it’s your profession or whether it’s a football team: You deal with the problems that you have, you try and fix them, and you get it right, and you keep marching, and you move on. But you stay the course.”
