Saturday night a report from Ken Rosenthal pointed to Angels longtime manager Mike Scioscia stepping down at the end of the season after 19-seasons with the team. Sunday morning, the Halos skipper is refuting the reports calling it ‘poppycock’ according to Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register adding that ‘nothing has changed since October’.

Scioscia wouldn’t speculate any further on his job status nor is it known the source of hasn’t ‘changed’ since October. What is known though is the Angels haven’t made the postseason since 2014, sit in fourth place in the AL West and are 11 games back of the second and final Wild Card in the American League. Not to mention it’s now August and Scioscia still doesn’t have a contract heading into next season.

Despite Scioscia’s denials, I’d still wager the Angels will have a new skipper in 2019.
