After Michigan’s 42-24 comeback victory over Northwestern on Saturday, the Wolverines have earned their highest national ranking since the early portion of the 2007 season.

The Wolverines (6-0, 2-0 Big Ten) moved up to No. 10 in the USA Today coaches poll, and sit at No. 11 in The Associated Press’ latest Top 25 poll.

Michigan is now 6-0 for the first time since 2006 and Michigan has been 6-0 six times since 1976. In all six or those 6-0 season’s they’ve gone onto the Rose Bowl.

Football fans and critics of the Wolverines will continue to question as to why Michigan is ranked as high as they are. However there’s not denying the significance of last night’s victory over Northwestern, especially with Wildcat’s QB Dan Persa back in the mix.

Brady Hoke and the Wolverines can improve their ranking next weekend when they head to Spartan Stadium to take on in state rival Michigan State.
