Tom Seaver, a Mets legend and arguably the greatest player in the history of that franchise has died at the age of 75 due to complications from Lewy body dementia and COVID-19.
Seaver actually passed away on Monday, however, it wasn’t made public until Wednesday evening as first reported by Bill Madden of the New York Daily News.
A fixture of the 69′ Mets World Series team, Seaver amounted 311 career wins, 3,640 career strikeouts, and three Cy Young Awards over a 20 year Major League career that included stints with the Mets, Reds, White Sox, and Red Sox.
