Matthew Stafford and the Lions did something today they’ve only done two other times since 1998, beat the Vikings in Minneapolis.
Not only did the Lions beat the Vikings and send them to their third-straight loss, they did it in a fashion that may have deflated anything Minnesota had left for the rest of the season.
First the Vikings were able to score a touchdown with 23 seconds remaining to give themselves a 16-13 lead. However that was apparently enough time for Matthew Stafford to get the Lions into field goal range – with no time outs – and Matt Prater to nail a 58-yard field goal as time expired.
Then there was overtime and plenty of time on the clock for Stafford to lead the Lions downfield and win the game. Which is exactly what he did while Golden Tate trolled Vikings fans everywhere.
Matthew Stafford. Golden Tate.

And in case you have any more doubt about Matthew Stafford in clutch, that was his fifth game winning drive this season.
